OwlCrate Book Box – Month 1!

Once again, UPS dropped off more than one box at our doorstep. They probably think we have some sort of problem.

However, right on top was my FIRST ever shipment from OwlCrate! Extremely exciting!

OwlCrate is probably one of the most popular book-ish monthly subscriptions out there. It was founded in 2014 and officially launched in February of 2015.

One of the biggest perks of subscribing to OwlCrate is that they frequently supply their own OwlCrate exclusive items. Whether it’s in the form of an exclusive book cover, artwork, or various other knick-knacks, you’re extremely likely to find something that you won’t be able to find anywhere besides with OwlCrate.

So let’s get right into what was included this month!
The theme was “Strange & Unusual”

The Grand Reveal

Upon opening the box, I instantly noticed how cute and professional everything was on the inside, from the print on the box to the packaging style.

On to the book of the month itself!

my plain jane

It is titled My Plain Jane by authors Cynthia Hand, Brodi Ashton, and Jodi Meadows. Interestingly enough, David was just talking about how he was interested in reading the first book of The Lady Janie series.

I am absolutely in love with the OwlCrate exclusive cover of this book! The vibrant green text with the violet-tinted background really makes the title pop out at you. I love the color combination!

The book also came signed and with a written note from the author, which makes it feel even more exclusive and personal! Definitely proves to be a fantastic one of a kind box!

You may think you know the story. Penniless orphan Jane Eyre begins a new life as a governess at Thornfield Hall, where she meets one dark, brooding Mr. Rochester—and, Reader, she marries him. Or does she?

Prepare for an adventure of Gothic proportions, in which all is not as it seems, a certain gentleman is hiding more than skeletons in his closets, and one orphan Jane Eyre, aspiring author Charlotte Bronte, and supernatural investigator Alexander Blackwood are about to be drawn together on the most epic ghost hunt this side of Wuthering Heights.

The book itself sounds interesting! I feel like it could be a hit or miss from the synopsis alone, but you will definitely be reading a review of it in the very near future! (Hopefully before the next OwlCrate shipment…)

See what I mean when I say that the title of the book just feels like it JUMPS off the cover?

I wasn’t expecting this many items in the OwlCrate box at all! I felt like I was just never going to stop finding things in this little box. I was extremely impressed!

The artwork included is beautiful, the wallet included feels like it’s decent quality and it’s so pretty, and the little knick-knacks included are adorable and so cute!

I am definitely a huge fan of this first monthly box, and would recommend to anyone looking for a great monthly book subscription! I’m already anxious to receive the next month’s box because this one is so good. You can really tell they put the time in to make a great quality box that I doubt anyone could be disappointed in!
Do you guys use OwlCrate? or another monthly book service? Let us know!

Also Thank you so much for viewing, don’t forget to subscribe for more uploads and reviews if interested and have not already! 🙂
